With Dennis Harris stepping down as Northeast Director, CLCCA is excited to welcome Attorney Lara Holzaski to the Board after her Board appointment at Spring Meeting.  We are confident Lara will be a valuable asset to our Board.  Please congratulate her at Summer Meeting.  

Our own Dennis Harris who has been with CLCCA for many years is retiring in July after 33 years of service with Ashland County.  Dennis has been a fixture at CLCCA being a great resource, source of support and friendship.  We wish him well in his his retirement.  Be sure to say goodbye at Summer Meeting.

Elections were held on December 9, 2023 and officers have now taken office.  Katie Bayness from Belmont County has been elected President.  Ginger Yonak of Union County was elected Vice-President, Michelle Ish of Ottawa County was elected North West Director, Dennis Harris of Ashland County, a past president, was elected North East Director, Rob Slane from Madison County was re-elected South West Director and Courtney Lower from Knox County, who was appointed by the Board to fill the non-expired term of Heather Brayshaw was elected South East Director.  Cathy Jones remains as Secretary/Treasurer.  

Frank Hatfield, CORSA Risk Manager, has notified CLCCA that CORSA will continue the CLCCA reimbursements for the 2023 PRIMA Conference Registration.  CORSA will reimburse the early bird registration fee of $660.00 for CLCCA members.  CORSA continues to support CLCCA members in all areas of Risk Management.  CLCCA encourages all members to look into this valuable training.  

On December 8th the EPA will hold  Encouraging Environmental Excellence (E3), Encouraging Environmental Excellence for Communities (E3C), and Encouraging Environmental Excellence in Education (E4) programs.  They EPA  will recognize award winners from 2022 and discuss levels of recognition and how to apply through Ohio EPA’s Customer Support Center. E3, E3C, and E4 recognizes organizations, communities and schools for their achievements in environmental stewardship.  

On January 5, 2023 the second Recycling & Litter Prevention grant cycle informational webinars will be held with applications due in February.  A portion of this grant is targeted directly towards businesses.

2023 CCAO Winter Conference is open for registration.  While we wish for all of our members to attend our Winter Meeting on December 9th at the CCAO/CORSA Offices, Winter Conference starts 12/7/2022 at the Hyatt.  All members are encouraged to look into the materials and classes, especially if you are an elected official.  

All positions on the CLCCA Board are open for election and the elections will be held at the CLCCA Winter meeting on 12/9/2022 at the CCAO/CORSA offices in Columbus.  Meeting registration forms can be found in the Education and Training tab under Winter Meeting.  While Michelle Crombie and Kathleen Hostutler are not running for re-election, Rob Slane (SW) is running again and Courtney Lower (appointed for the unexpired term for SE) is running for the open term as well.  Katie Bayness has expressed interest in President and Ginger Yonuk has expressed interest in Vice President.  We encourage all members to consider running.  You must be a professional member and for District Directors, you can only run for the district you're in. Anyone can run for President or Vice President.  If interested, let Cathy Jones know or you can do so on the day of the election.  Cathy Jones can answer any questions you have.

2023 PRIMA Conference has been scheduled for June 4-7, 2023 at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach California.
